1) What is the Schwarze Radieschen?
The Schwarze Radieschen (“Black Horse Radish”, in short „Radi“) is the clubhouse of the Association for Solidarity, Emancipation, Communication and Self-Development; it was founded about 9 years ago after the fading of a failed house squatters‘ wave as an attempt to create a real life meeting place for critical thinkers and solidarity activists, and to make freedom from hierarchy tangible in daily life.
2) Does it cost anything to use the Schwarze Radieschen?
Not really. Since the space is financed by private donations, we are of course happy about smaller and larger contributions to cover running costs. Whether you want to give something or how much you want to give is absolutely up to you.
3) Will the Radi see another May?
That depends very much on whether a small handful of people can get together to continue experimenting with these ideas, keep at it, and get more people excited about it. Then there could be quite a splendid 10-years Radi-celebration on next May 1.st …
4) How can I support the Schwarze Radieschen?
A lot depends on what you like to do or are motivated to do. The best thing to do is stop by and talk to people about how you can get involved.

Steinfeldgasse 2, 8020 Graz (corner Prankergasse). The bus line 50 stops almost in front of the door. From the main station or Esperantoplatz it’s about a 5 minute walk.

1) Was ist das Schwarze Radieschen?
Das Schwarze Radieschen (“Radi”) ist das Vereinslokal des Vereins für Solidarische Emanzipation, Kommunikation und Selbstentfaltung; es wurde vor ca 9 Jahren nach dem Abebben einer gescheiterten Hausbesetzungswelle gegründet als Versuch, einen realen Ort der Begegnung für Kritisch Denkende und Solidarisch Handelnde zu schaffen, und Hierarchie-Freiheit im täglichen Leben erfahrbar zu machen.
2) Kostet es etwas, das Schwarze Radieschen zu nutzen?
Eigentlich nicht. Nachdem sich der Raum von privaten Spenden finanziert freuen wir uns natürlich über kleinere und größere Beiträge um laufende Kosten zu decken. Ob du etwas oder wie viel du hergeben magst, bleibt absolut dir überlassen.
3) Wird das Radi noch einen Mai sehen?
Das hängt sehr stark davon ab, ob sich eine kleine Handvoll Menschen zusammen findet, um mit diesen Ideen weiter zu experimentieren, dran bleiben, und weitere Menschen dafür begeistern können. Dann könnte es eine ganz prächtige 10-Jahre-Radi-Feier am nächsten 1. Mai geben…
4) Wie kann ich das Schwarze Radieschen unterstützen?
Viel hängt davon ab, was du gerne tust oder wozu du motiviert bist. Am besten du schaust vorbei und redest mit Leuten vor Ort wie du dich einbringen kannst.

5) Wo finde ich euch?
Die Adresse des schwarzen radieschen ist: Steinfeldgasse 2, 8020 Graz (Ecke Prankergasse). Die Buslinie 50 hält fast vor der Haustür. Vom Hauptbahnhof oder Esperantoplatz sind es etwa 5 Minuten Fußweg. Eine kleine Umgebungskarte findest du in der Spalte rechts oder hier.
